Macramé Care Guide: How to Keep Your Sacred Pieces Beautiful
We are so grateful that you’ve chosen one of our spiritually-infused macramé creations. Each piece is made with love and intention to help support and elevate your energy. To ensure your piece stays beautiful and energetically charged for years to come, we’ve put together some simple care tips.
1. Gentle Cleaning & Dusting
Macramé art is delicate by nature, so cleaning it should be done with care.
Dusting: Use a soft, dry cloth or a lint roller to remove dust. If your piece is in a location where dust accumulates often, try to dust it every few weeks.
Spot Cleaning: If you need to clean a small spot or stain, lightly dampen a cloth with water (you can add a small amount of mild detergent, but avoid harsh chemicals). Gently blot the stain, then let the area air dry completely.
2. Tassel & Fringe Care:
If the tassels or fringe become out of place over time, we recommend brushing out the tassels or fringe using a pet brush or hair comb to gently separate the strands, which will help maintain a fluffy and full appearance.
To keep the tassels in place, you can lightly spray them with hairspray or fabric starch. This will give them a more structured look and prevent any tangling over time. Be sure to apply these products from a distance to avoid over-saturating the fibers.
3. Avoid Direct Sunlight
While sunlight can bring a warm glow to any room, prolonged exposure can cause the fibers of your macramé to fade or weaken. Try to place your macramé pieces in a space where they can receive indirect light, preserving both their beauty and strength.
4. Keep Away from Excess Moisture
Macramé is made from natural fibers like cotton, jute, or hemp, which can absorb moisture. To maintain the integrity of your piece:
Keep it dry: Avoid hanging it in damp spaces like bathrooms or areas where there is high humidity.
Be cautious of spills: If liquid accidentally spills on your macramé, gently blot it with a clean towel to remove excess moisture, and let it dry in a well-ventilated area.
5. Store with Care
If you ever need to store your macramé piece, make sure it is in a dry, cool location. Avoid storing it in direct sunlight, and keep it away from heavy objects that could crush or distort the knots.
6. Energetic Maintenance
Our macramé creations are infused with frequencies to help align with your spiritual intentions. To keep the positive energy flowing:
Re-set the Intentions: You can periodically re-set the intention of your piece by holding it in your hands and focusing on your desired outcome. You may even want to use sound healing, crystals, or light to amplify the energy.
Cleansing: If your piece has been around negative energy or needs a refresh, you can use sage, palo santo, or sound healing to cleanse the piece and restore its vibrancy.
7. Re-knots and Repairs
If a knot becomes loose or a string frays, don’t worry! Macramé can usually be repaired. You can re-knot any loose ends or even reach out to us for assistance if you prefer professional repair services.
Thank you for supporting our journey to create macramé pieces that are not only beautiful but also spiritually uplifting! We hope your macramé piece brings healing, peace, and positive energy into your space.
